I was invited to a private event in Tel Aviv-Yafo on Friday evening. I decided to attend the event in the handmaid's uniform for two reasons: first, I knew I wouldn't stay until the end and would go from there to the protest at Kaplan. Second, it was important for me to arrive in the handmaid's uniform because most of the people at the event are pro-democracy activists. This strengthened my need to bring the character I represent to an external event. For me, it was significant to have the character’s presence resonate publicly beyond the natural and dedicated venus of the organized protests.
